FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions):

1) How much do a private investigator's services cost?

2) This is my first time to use a private investigator, what can you do for me?

The Cost of a Private Investigation

You can read the long answer below and get some insight as to the whys and wherefores,
or you can jump right to the pricing schedule by clicking here

Practically everybody who enlists our services asks how much it will cost;
and, practically every time the question is asked, the answer is the same,  "It depends".

It depends on what you need, what you already know, and how difficult
or time-consuming it will be to get the information you're after.

In every investigation, we try to keep the costs down as much as practicable.

But, back to the question... how much will it cost?

Since SURVEILLANCE is our specialty, let's start there.

First, the definition of surveillance - taken from various sources:

  • Close and continuous observation of a person or group, especially one under suspicion.

  • The act of observing or the condition of being observed.

  • The collection, collation, analysis, and dissemination of data.

  • A type of observational study that involves continuous monitoring.

The fee for Basic Surveillance within our "normal" geographical area of operation
(See "Coverage".) is $65 per hour.
If you need us to conduct surveillance outside our normal geographical area of operation, such as following someone from Mountain Home, Arkansas to Long Beach, California, (Which, by the way, we have done.)
it will be necessary to make some adjustments to the base fee.

What does Basic Surveillance include?

In general, basic surveillance includes keeping the subject/s in view, (Or, if they go inside a building, monitoring when they go in and when they come out.) and keeping notes of dates, times, physical descriptions, addresses and observable activities.

What about photography or recording?

That's a little extra, but not much.
Since the advent of digital photography, it's a lot less costly to get photos or video,
so rather than the relatively large fee we had to charge in the past in order to pay for film, etc., we simply tack on a nominal fee of $10 per hour for either still photographs or video.

NOTE: We use state-of-the-art digital photographic and video equipment. Since efficiency and discretion are paramount when conducting surveillance,
we usually use the same machine for both still photographs and video.
But, in my professional experience, nothing beats my Nikon Digital SLR
for capturing still photos. So, if you need still photos but not video, that's what I use, because there's nothing like being able to read a license plate at 200 yards!

Bottom Line: Surveillance within our normal coverage area, with photography,
which is what most of our clients want, will cost $75 per hour.
